Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Reiki

image

Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that cleanses and balances the energy system in the body. As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health. During a session, I work directly with your energy field to remove blockages, detoxify your system, and restore your vital life force energy. Reiki utilizes a gentle laying on of hands to conduct the necessary energy force between us. The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain.

Kim is a certified Reiki Master.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger Point Therapy is a style of bodywork that focuses on stimulating and releasing "trigger points" in your body. Trigger points are tender areas of tension similar to acupressure points, except they occur in the belly of the muscle rather than along the energy pathways of the body. These "knots" are built up throughout a person's life due to physical, mental, and/or emotional stress. During a session, focused pressure is applied through a variety of techniques order to release your trigger points. This process can be quite painful at times, yet the effects are lasting and profoundly transformative.

Chair Massage

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in your home or workplace. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy Massage is a style of bodywork designed specifically for pregnant women. Pregnancy is a time when a woman's body endures tremendous stress due to dramatic physical and emotional changes. Using various techniques specially developed for the expecting mother, Pregnancy Massage helps release the pain and discomfort experienced throughout pregnancy. The benefits are profound, including emotional support, the relief of joint pain due to extra weight and postural imbalance, and improved breathing and relaxation.

Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy for the upper extremity- which includes the shoulder, arm, wrist, and hand.  Neuromuscular Therapy addresses issues of pain and/or limited range of motion through massage, trigger point therapy, and stretches.  The positioning of the shoulders affects your posture, which in turn affect all the muscles in the back and neck.  Neuromuscular Therapy of the upper extremity can help conditions such as: frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injury, thoracic outlet syndrome, tennis elbow or golfer's elbow (aka tendonitis), trigger finger, and many others.  This is a therapy that has given me successful results with clients even after rotator cuff surgery, in which the client continued to have limited range of motion and pain years after their surgery.  This therapy requires an hour for the first visit, which will help assess the muscle involvement, then multiple short 30 minute sessions.

Raindrop Technique

60 minutes: $90

Raindrop Technique uses therapeutic-grade essential oils applied onto the body from a height (like rain), so that the oils interact with the physical body as well as the energy field. This was inspired by the Native American belief that raindrops may purify and cleanse the body and spirit. Because the essential oils easily penetrate the skin and muscles, the technique works on deep levels of the body without requiring hard pressure or force. Raindrop Technique uses Vitaflex Technique, the Ancient Tibetan form of reflexology, in conjunction with specific Young Living essential oils.

Raindrop Technique was developed by essential oil researcher and naturopath D. Gary Young due to research showing that many forms of spinal misalignment are caused by muscle spasms and inflammation-producing bacteria and viruses that reside along the spine.

Note: This technique produces a deep detoxifying effect. Although there are children diagnosed with scoliosis, this technique is recommended for those 12yrs and older.  These oils can be irritating to sensitive skin, please inform your therapist if this applies to you.
